General Information:
The Women In Transition House is a homey, 1st and 2nd homes are 4 bedrooms, and ranch style house located on the grounds of the Richmond State Hospital. The home houses 6 – 12 women at a time who are recently released from prison or a drug rehabilitation program and need a place to regain a fresh start. They are offered a structured place to live and supportive services to address crime prone beha viors, education and employment needs, and behavioral health issues. Such services will be offered in the context of supervised residential living facilities that help offenders gain basic skills, find employment, and pay fines and fees. In order to begin the transition of returning to society, the WIT House has established programs focusing on freedom from all addictions, the healing process within one’s self and building a new life. The WIT House has a professional, well-trained staff to assist the residents with the transformation back into society. The WIT House provides an environment of hope and serenity where the individual will have the ability to focus on the importance of family, friends and freedom.
