Housing Authority, Public Housing, Section 8 vouchers. All Housing Authorities in Connecticut operate under federal (HUD) regulations for federal developments, and both the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA) and the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) for state developments.  Although the Housing Authority in Meriden operates under federal and state regulations, the MHA does work closely with the City Manager and other departments within the City of Meriden in a cooperative effort to resolve housing issues for low and moderate income persons. The front desk will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. except for 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m for lunch. The lobby will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. which will give residents access to the Smart Card System, the Rental Payment box, and a telephone allowing them to dial employee extensions.
