Class of Housing/Services: shelter, housing assistance for ex inmates.

General Information:
RECONNECT, a program of Amicus, is an information and referral service especially for ex-offenders. We understand the special challenges that come with being an ex-offender. We can help you link up with: - Shelter and housing - Employment - Identification - Education - Aftercare programs - Clothing - Family services - Single-parent resources - Food shelves - Furniture and much more. If you tell us what your needs are, we’ll try to find a resource that can help. We handle each case individually to try to surround you with a circle of support for your new life. Use the release planning guide in this brochure to organize your thoughts, and give us a call. We don’t get involved in business between the ex-offender and the Department of Corrections, and we don’t advocate for you in the judicial system. But if you need practical help and leads for housing, jobs and other needs, we’ll meet with you individually and help you locate resources to build a new and positive life. RECONNECT services are available through consultations in prison and also at the Amicus office in downtown Minneapolis after your release. You can also access helpful information through RECONNECT Online. Contact us today to set up an appointment. RECONNECT also welcomes employers, landlords, and service providers who might be willing to hire, rent to, or assist ex-offenders to contact us for information and be added to our resource list. For more information call the Program Director - 612-348-8570. Reconnect hours are Monday through Friday 9:00am - Noon; and Monday through Thursday 1:00pm - 3:00pm.

As A General Note About ShelterListings.org Listings:
ShelterListings.org does our best to provide listings that are free of cost. Many of the homeless shelters and services are free of charge. Some do charge small fees. We always urge the users of our website to visit the websites of the providers listed, OR give them a phone call to find out complete details.

In furtherance; Halfway Houses, Transitional Housing, and Substance Abuse Treatment Centers for the most part charge a fee. Most of the substance abuse resources we provide are low cost, Medicaid or sliding scale fee. We provide as much information as possible on the website of these locations.

Rooming and Boarding Houses do charge fees. We list them where we find them. They are a nice low cost option for housing.
