Class of Housing/Services: Transitional Housing, Non Profit Organization

General Information:
This is a Non Profit Organization that provides Transitional Housing. Review the details below: We help homeless people improve their lives and become as self-sufficient as possible by providing comprehensive support and helping them access other appropriate services, while expecting them to take as much responsibility as they can. On average we serve 1700 people each year in the Emergency Shelter, 80 in the Transitional Living Program, and 40 at Plimpton House. Many have gone on to live productive and independent lives, some coming back and volunteering at South Park Inn to help others. We also advocate for solutions to root causes of homelessness, including affordable housing, mental health and substance abuse issues, working cooperatively with other local and state-wide groups. South Park Inn was founded by a grass roots group of concerned people in 1982 to meet the needs of the growing homeless population in Hartford, and is run by a Board of community volunteers and a dedicated staff. Fees may apply for this Transitional Housing resource. Contact South Park Inn with the contact information we provided to get full details. Oftentimes you can apply for sliding scale fee payment or other options if you are low income. You will need to speak with them to see if you qualify.
