The Mentoring Activities Sponsored By The Tfm Are Designed To Reduce The Flow Of Misguided Youth Into The Gang Structure And Help Them Live Healthier, Happier, More Productive Lives. The National Mentoring Partnership Estimates That Mentored Teens Are 46% Less Likely To Try Or Use Drugs And 27% Less Likely To Initiate Alcohol Use. The Joint Prince Georges County/Montgomery County Gang Prevention Task Force Report (9/14/04) Recommends Mentoring As A Major Intervention Focusing On Youth At Risk, And Urges County Institutions And Organizations To Provide Assistance To Groups Doing Mentoring.
