Services Provided: Homeless Assistance Program The Homeless Assistance Program (HAP) makes available a continuum of services to persons who are at risk of becoming homeless who can demonstrate that with the prevention and intervention services provided by the Homeless Assistance Program they would be able to meet their basic needs in the future. HAP Case Management Case Management services are available to assist eligible clients in the completion of a formal intake interview, assessing service needs and determining eligibility. Rental Assistance Rental Assistance is a payment for rent, security deposit, or utilities made on behalf of individuals to prevent and/or end homelessness by maintaining individuals in their own residences. Rental Assistance may include assistance to prevent homelessness or near homelessness by intervening where an eviction is imminent. Utility payments may be made on behalf of individuals not eligible for payment from the Department of Public Welfare's Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). Emergency Food and Shelter Program Emergency Food and Shelter funding helps to assure that individuals in immediate need can find refuge and care, and are able to move toward self-sufficiency. Emergency Food and Shelter EFSP provides limited emergency rental assistance for individuals or households whose payment is in arrears. Individuals must be a resident of the home or apartment and be responsible for the rent on the home where the rental assistance is to be paid. Payment is limited to one month's cost for each individual or household. Senior low income apartment: Raystown Village Apartments Low income residents age 62 and over and disabled persons of any age may apply for affordable housing based on income. All units are HUD Section 8 subsidized.     * Raystown Village Apartments are located on South Spring Street and Fifth Avenue in Everett, PA.     * Clean, quiet one bedroom apartments and two bedroom townhouses with adequate storage, electric, water, sewer and trash included in rent. Some units have balconies or porches.     * The Fifth Avenue location has parking and a laundry room. The Spring Street location has off street parking and is close to amenities.     * All units are equipped with a stove, refrigerator and air conditioning.     * Small pets are allowed as per Pet Policy and requires additional Pet Security Deposit. Verification of income, assets, bank accounts, social security card, and birth certificate are required. Tenants must re-certify income and family composition, assets and out of pocket medical expenses yearly. Rents you can afford Rents are calculated on 30% of your gross income, less out of pocket medical expenses. All utilities are included. Tenants are responsible for telephone and TV cable. A waiting list is maintained for occupancy. As a unit becomes available persons from the waiting list are contacted to verify interest and eligibility, and units are rented on a first come first serve basis. Several one bedroom units are located on the second floor. The two bedroom townhouses have two levels and an outdoor patio.
