Class of Housing/Services: Transitional housing for families.

General Information:
Office hours: Mondays through Fridays 10am - 4pm. IOH provides small two-room apartments with a kitchenette and a bath to families who want to return to, and are capable of returning to, financial independence and self-sufficiency. Laundry facilities are available on site. Each family must meet certain criteria in order to be accepted into the IOH program. Single headed and legally married couples Must have at least one child under the age of 17 All adults in the family must have full time employment All family members must be alcohol and drug free Must be capable of saving a minimum of $500 per month and paying a program fee of $150.00 per month. The director of family services helps the families to: set goals appropriate for their needs and abilities; establish a career plan; obtain additional training; find and move into independent housing when they are ready; and require that their children attend school daily. IOH offers a wide array of services to support our families while they are in the process of recovering from homelessness. The average length of stay is ten months, however a family may stay in on site housing for up to two years. Services include: Intensive case management to help families in developing and implementing self-sufficiency plans Life skills training, including all aspects of financial management, decision making, problem solving and parenting Individual, group and family mental health counseling After-School tutoring and child care Summer Camp & Enrichment Programs Mandatory savings program Transportation assistance Employment and training assistance and counseling Food and household supply pantry
