Meals Are Also Available For Delivery To Seniors Needing Short-Term Assistance, Such As Those Recovering From Outpatient Surgery. The Full Cost Of Our Program Is Subsidized For 100% Of Our Seniors, Most Of Whom Are Challenged By Living On A Fixed Income. Because We Believe That Food Is One Of Life?S Most Basic Necessities And No One Should Ever Have To Go Hungry, Fees May Be Further Reduced For Seniors Who Are Unable To Afford $7.00 Per Day. More And More, As They Find Themselves Faced With Difficult Financial Decisions, Seniors Are Turning To Meals-On-Wheels For Help. The Average Age Of A Meals-On-Wheels Recipient Is 80 And About 84% Are Considered LowIncome. Rising Housing And Energy Costs, In Addition To Escalating Prescription Medication Charges, Impact Their Already Limited Income.
