Class of Housing/Services: Halfway House for men

General Information:
Provides a halfway house for men. There is a small fee for services. Call for full details. When residents first move into one of our recovery homes, they will be directed to agencies that can supply food, work, and health services. Also new members are encouraged to apply for food stamps, until they can gain employment. Food is provided at the weekly house meeting at each residence. Also we have three annual picnics at which sponsors and guests are invited. Other house member and alumni only picnics will be scheduled as well as our annual Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. We also plan other periodic group activities like bowling, etc. Senior house members will be able to attend concerts as a group.

Halfway Housing helps transition individuals and families from shelters or homelessness to permanent housing. Length of stay is usually anywhere from 6 months to 2 years.  Residents are often required to pay at least 30% of their income toward program fees.  Sometimes the money they pay in fees is returned to them when they leave. Any emergency or homeless shelter that allows their clients to stay more then 6 months is also classified under this category.
