Downtown Cooperatives provide group living for individuals desiring additional support as a part of independent living. Residents all contribute to the overall living environment. Group decisions are made around: - Menu planning - Cleaning and grounds maintenance - Problem solving and decision making Supportive services also include full time program advisers at each site to help residents work toward personal goals that they have developed for themselves. Two separate locations are available and the rates are as follows: 12th Street Cooperative: This community is an 8 bed Victorian home for mental health consumers. Rental fees of $568.00 per month for a single room, $578.00 per months for a single room with a private bath, and $491.00 per month for a shared room. This includes food, laundry facilities, utilities as well as common area resident phone and internet 2beds are available for General Assistance vendorized payments.. River City Residence Club: This community is a 15 bed Victorian home for mental heath consumers. Rental fees are approximately 30% of one’s adjusted gross income for a single room, plus a $338.00 program service fee. The costs include single room (fully furnished) food, laundry facilities, utilities as well as common area resident phone, internet, cable. The average rent and fee total for residents receiving SSI ($856.00) benefits are approximately $590.00. A criminal and rental eviction background check is required. In these two areas, management may consider extenuating circumstances in evaluating the information obtained.
